Lunch, without leaving the marketplace
The Hive Eatery
A lunch spot beside the country store. Soups, sandwiches, salads, desserts, and specialty tea, in a room that feels more like a place to linger than a restaurant.
Who bakes and who simmers
Local, down to the bread.
White bread comes from Sweet Em's Bakery in Welcome. Sourdough comes from Get It To Go Bakery in Wallburg. Soups are made by Full Measure and Mrs. Pumpkin's.
About thirty loose-leaf teas line the wall. Drink a cup with lunch, or take a blend home. Angie also keeps about forty raw herbs and tinctures for people who want the plant itself, not just the tea.
The Hive serves lunch during store hours, Tuesday through Saturday. Call ahead if you are timing a visit around the kitchen.
Why it's here
For years the only way to eat at HoneyBell's was to stand at the counter or catch one of Rob's pop-ups — chicken stew in a big kettle, smoked turkey legs, smoked sausage sandwiches. Shoppers who got hungry had to leave Evenbrooke to find a table.
Rob, Angie, and Evenbrooke owner Brad McCullough talked about that for a long time. The Hive is the answer: eat, sit, then walk back into the store. It opened in October 2026, the latest step after a 2018 vendor booth grew into the country store.
